HORMONE
HEALTH

During perimenopause, which can happen as early as your 30s, hormone levels start to drop and the resulting imbalance can cause you to experience a range of frustrating symptoms. As you move closer to menopause, when you stop having your periods, symptoms can worsen or change, once again due to fluctuations in your hormonal balance. Common symptoms include:

  • New or worsening PMS symptoms like bloating and breast tenderness

  • Irregular or heavier periods

  • Increased or prolonged anxiety

  • Low libido and/or vaginal dryness

  • Dry skin and reduced skin elasticity or increased wrinkles

  • Hot flashes and/or night sweats

  • Weight gain or difficulty losing weight

  • Brain fog

  • Irritability

  • Trouble sleeping

I specialize in hormone balancing therapies that help reduce perimenopausal and menopausal symptoms. A big part of this is through achieving estrogen and progesterone balance, but often other hormones, such as testosterone and cortisol, also need to be addressed. I use a variety of modalities, including bioidentical hormone therapy, which is commonly used among functional medical doctors and Naturopathic doctors.

I also treat common hormone related disorders including Hashimoto's thyroiditis, hypothyroidism, and adrenal dysfunction.

Each woman’s situation, stage and symptoms of hormone imbalance can be different. Schedule a 90-minute first consultation where I can get to know you better, and together we can explore the best treatment plan for you and your body.
